Lisa Kent (Community Yoga)

I have been teaching yoga for the past 10 years and am the owner of a successful small business. I’m trained in Hatha, Yin, SUP Yoga, Kids & Community Yoga and also more recently Laughter Yoga, which I LOVE!!! I’m also a single mum to my 3 wonderful children, 10,11 & 14yrs, who keep me both on my toes AND grounded!!

I came to yoga after experiencing some serious health issues and fell in love during my first class. Every cell in my body seemed to wake up and say, “Finally…… we’re home, ahhhhhhhhh”. It was through my practice and teacher training that I rediscovered my true authentic self. I found my voice, my inner strength and balance in my life that I hadn’t had before. I’m not going to lie…sometimes it wasn’t easy but what got me through and what still does today is my yoga practice.
As our lives become busier with electronics & social media playing a major role in how we communicate/play/relax and learn, it seems many people are feeling disconnected!!… with themselves/ their families/their communities and mother nature.

We are missing that natural spark of connection, the expressions on faces (not emojis.. lol), the spontaneous emotions and human touch. That’s what I feel we need back.. the smiles, the hugs, the heart connection, and that is the reason I created Our Community Yoga….. it’s not just mine, it’s OURS!

Our classes are not ALWAYS quiet.. in fact it can get quite loud before class starts, and I love that. Watching students reconnect each week, sharing stories and energy and smiles.

I am forever grateful to each and every student that comes to class, without you I wouldn’t be able to do what I love… and that is sharing the Yoga vibe far and wide 🙂
